In March this year BIS-NY was recommended for affiliate status of the Independent Schools Association of the UK thereby increasing our global presence.
The Independent Schools Association was founded in 1879 and is one of the oldest of the independent schools' organisations in the Independent Schools Council in the UK.
A school must satisfy the Association that it satisfies the stringent requirements for membership and/or affiliation, which will include an inspection, before approval.
The Association exists to provide professional support to Head teachers, to provide training opportunities for Heads and Staff, and to offer a wide range of sport and cultural activities to the pupils in their schools, which number around 300.
Please see below the email to Mr. Morse confirming our status:

David,
Good to hear from you and regards to all at BISNY.
You should hear officially from Ruth Howe in the next few days. However, unofficially I am pleased to confirm that the Membership Committee recommended to the Executive Council of ISA that you should be awarded Overseas Affiliate status of ISA with immediate effect.
May I be the first to congratulate you.
Regards
Arthur
