Elaine Keating–Brown

Elaine Keating -BrownMrs Keating-Brown came to teaching after many years of working in the travel industry, most notably working for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the British Government in London. She decided to follow her dream and passion of working with children and undertook a BA degree programme at the University of Surrey: Roehampton. Her career change was rewarded when she received a BA First Class honours degree and QTS in Primary Education and Early Childhood. The programme is a nationally recognised qualification that confers on the successful candidate both a full BA degree as well as a national teaching qualification. She was also nominated for a Froebel award for her outstanding research on outdoor play and its importance in education.

In her previous position she was employed as a classroom teacher of children aged 4-5 years in a London multi ethnic Beacon school (a school of recognised excellence). Mrs Keating-Brown has high expectations of both herself and her pupils and takes responsibility for her own professional development by continually evaluating her practice and the outcomes of the children she works with. She carries out her duties with a very high level of skill, understanding and sensitivity, and recognises the importance of developing a strong partnership with parents.
